Matthew Fowler explains his FLEETCOR journey and how, after hitting his targets for 2017 already, he's progressed to Senior Sales Executive
How long have you been with FLEETCOR?
2 years and 3 months
What made you want to join FLEETCOR and how has it changed since you started?
I was working in customer service for an insurance broker and I wanted to see if I could sell. I had heard that FLEETCOR was a global name and that the job had an uncapped commission structure so I thought if I could sell, it would be a good idea to try and get in with the market leader.
FLEETCOR is always growing so I have seen a few changes. The best thing for me is being part of a company that is focused on growth.
You recently progressed to Senior Sales Executive after hitting your target for 2017 already, how have you found the progression at FLEETCOR?
Progression at FLEETCOR is always available and the business wants to guide the staff through their own journey.
For me, I think SSE was a natural step, the results were there and I can now focus on working with my Team Leader and Sales Manager to develop in other areas that might see me go towards corporate business sales or a managerial role.
We have regular meetings with our Team Leaders which come back to the PDP so there is always the intention to get staff moving through the business.
What is it like working in Sales at FLEETCOR?
We are blessed that we have market leading products to sell which allows us to offer a product that suits any business, because of this, sales at FLEETCOR is highly competitive.
It is a target driven business where success is rewarded and management are always looking at ways to keep their staff incentivised.
We are also fortunate to have a great working environment where the staff get on really well and socialise away from the workplace with one another through choice!
Would you recommend FLEETCOR as a place of work?
If you have a sales mentality where you want to work hard and take home uncapped commission then this is definitely the job for you.
