Meet Ros, Shell UK Reseller's Nominee for Outstanding Contribution 2016/17
Shell UK Reseller's nominee for outstanding contribution 2016/17, and one of our favorite sales trainers, Ros Cooper outlines what it's like to train our expanding sales teams, from new starters to experienced sales leaders.
How long have you been with FLEETCOR?
I started in September 2015
What made you want to join FLEETCOR and how has it changed since you started?
I was looking for a training role within Sales and the job description looked great. I saw that the business was fast growing and wanted to be part of that team. Since I started the business has changed a lot: launching new products and expanding to open a new office.
You were recently nominated for an award, what was it for?
It was at the Shell Reseller Awards. I was nominated for Outstanding Contribution. My role has encompassed me liaising with Shell and supporting the organising of external training from Shell. I received a certificate for my nomination.
What’s the best part of your current role as UK Sales Performance Executive?
I love everything about my role. The people in particular make this a great place to work – it’s like working with your friends! I like being able to travel across site and meeting new people. It’s a very varied role which sees me taking on new and exciting responsibilities all the time.
What’s the current Sales training programme like?
New starters receive a thorough on-boarding programme which ensures they receive the support they require in order to be really successful in their role. We have a 2 week dedicated induction training programme that encompasses all the knowledge they need. The training is very interactive and new starters are encouraged to participate fully in order to gain the most out of their training.
Not only do we support new starters into the business, we are continuously supporting our existing members of staff through bespoke training modules, coaching and workshops.
We have a tailored sales programme that all our sales staff have gone through and we dedicate time to assess and coach the staff against the principles outlined in the programme – this is to ensure that we support each sales executive in achieving their maximum potential and gaining as many sales and as much commission as possible.
Would you recommend FLEETCOR as a place of work?
Yes, it’s a great place to work – there are always new opportunities on the horizon and the support from colleagues is lovely.
